The band
Edited on Mon Feb-16-09 02:00 AM by Blue_In_AK
The kids asked me to take some promo photos for their "Mother of Pearl - Today's Hottest Country" gig at Chilkoot Charlie's http://www.koots.com/ , as opposed to their usual "four decades of rock" pix. I don't know which of these they're going to use (or maybe another one), but I thought these didn't turn out too bad for a landscape photographer. :) The Mammoth Guitar Store was kind enough to let us use one of their demo rooms.

Here's their other incarnation

1. Good stuff. Being a gear freak, I love the first one
But I think the last one is probably the best from a PR standpoint.

Oh, and guess what, you're a great landscape photographer because you're a great photographer, not the other way around.

4. Heather is my daughter - she sings
Robby, my son-in-law, is lead guitar (the one in the cowboy hat); Tony, the one with the finger gun, is the drummer; and "new" Rusty, the bass player, is the one who looks like "The Edge." We call him new Rusty because old Rusty, the former bass player, had alcohol issues and they had to let him go after more than a few embarrassing incidents.

We really like Tony and new Rusty. They have nice families, and we all socialize on holidays. They're all great kids (if you can call them kids in their 30s -- haha).

3. How'd I guess the one with the finger-gun was the drummer?
:)

I like the first one, and the interactions in the last one.

5. I like the first on the best
But I would tone down those white pants. They are the focus of the photo.

6. I noticed that, too.
They really popped out. Heather just took these and did things with them on her own program, so I'm sure whatever turns up on their MySpace page or at Chilkoot's won't look anything like this. In fact, here's what they did with the "shooting" one...a little "edgier," I guess you would say. :)

8. Ummm, edgier...
I guess you don't have to worry about the white pants jumping out.

7. I love the first one. It tells a story while looking pro. The others are
wonderfully entertaining shots making you like the people involved. A second favorite is number 4 - but before I chose four, I chose number one a second time.
I like that one a lot. Now you had fun, I can tell !
