1. Congratulations!
They look great. I hope you get a lot of business. I checked out your website for the first time too. Way to go.........

Be sure to get some great pictures at the Iditarod, and post them here.

2. Thanks.
I will be taking LOTS of pictures of the Iditarod...you guys will probably be sick of them all. :)

We're also running up to Fairbanks next weekend, so hopefully, if the weather cooperates, I'll get some nice winter shots out in the boonies between here and there. It's such beautiful country.

4. You're so sweet to say that.
I like your new name, by the way. I'm going to have to make a chart here so I can remember who everyone is now. :)

6. Very beautiful cards. Looking forward to pictures from you always. And what,
pray tell, is the Iditarod?
Nice you show the variety of your capability in the card.

7. The Iditarod is the premier long-distance sled dog race
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 08:57 PM by Blue_In_AK
which goes from Willow, just north of Anchorage, all the way out to Nome, a distance of about 1100 miles. It commemorates the 1925 serum run when 20 mushers and their dogs relayed diphtheria antitoxin to Nome to forestall a threatening epidemic. Here's the Wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iditarod_Trail_Sled_Dog_Race

I have photos from the 2007 and 2008 race starts here: http://www.northernvisions.smugmug.com/Sports

The first Saturday in March what they call the "ceremonial start" is held here in Anchorage -- mostly a photo op -- and then the real race starts in Willow the next day. It's a really big deal up here -- kind of like our Indy 500 or the Tour de France, except with dogs and sleds. This year is particularly exciting for us because we're flying out to Nome for the race finish. Even though I've lived in Alaska since 1975 I've never been out to the West Coast, so I'm really looking forward to it. We're staying a week, so I'm hoping to get lots of candid shots of the mushers and other sights.

And for you and your photography it will be like eating cake all day long (if you like cake).
Now I doubly can't wait for your posts.

10. My son-in-law, the musician, also manages a Kinko's.
He helped me put this together. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out.

11. Wow...you sprung for folded ones...
I just use the kind I can print up on my inkjet. ;-)

(Actually, I need to re-do my cards. I'm still using the originals I came up with in 2005 and, frankly, the photos I picked as examples of my work wouldn't make the cut nowadays.)
