I always appreciate nice shots of mundane things and then kick myself for not taking more of these sorts of pictures myself. I especially like "Studying."

For the past month or so I have shot almost exclusively 'street photography'. I just meander around town, often times shooting from the hip, without people even knowing I am shooting. I am really enjoying it, and have put together a nice collection.
Together, I feel they convey a stillness, maybe a little loneliness. I don't know what I am going to do with the collection though.

3. I think it is nice to see a little commerce too |

Some people still have jobs doing things.
What is the story with the Buddha behind the desk? That is hilarious.

5. I am making a series of |
|
'street people' (performers, homeless people, vendors), Laborers, and objects that add to the sense of loneliness or necessity?
The Buddha caught me totally off guard. I was roaming the streets, taking my street shots, and looked in a vacant hotel lobby. It has been closed for about a year now. The window is slightly tinted, so I had to cup my hands. I couldn't believe a giant Buddha was sitting there looking back at me. It is a fun shot.

.....which always seems to add more emotion, even to every-day kinds of activities.
The Buddha picture speaks to me the most, not sure why.........maybe just because I'm curious for the "rest of the story."
Nice job, all around.

I don't know the who, how or why of the Buddha. He is sitting alone in a closed hotel lobby on a street downtown. The window is slightly tinted, so I don't think many people notice him.

7. Love them all, but the Buddha is haunting and hysterical at the same time. |

You got great pavement in Asheville for street photography. I hope you keep it up.

Sheriff's office?
If so, that is the one involved in the fatal pedestrian struck on Leicester Highway last month

10. The SUV was being dropped at the foreign car doctor, |
|
down by the back entrance of Mast Genral Store. It may have come from the Sheriff's office. They were dropping it for parts. I'll have to look into the news archives to see if the descriptions match. The windshield was definitely busted from the outside.
The Buddha is the receptionist at the Windsor Hotel. On Broadway. Go give him a visit. You would never notice it unless you took an intentional look in the window.

You have a really good collection of street photography. There is a definite sense of loneliness and people wrapped up in their own worlds. I am inspired by your photos of everyday life, and really enjoy looking at them.

13. Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. |

I have an evolving collection of 40 or so shots that I am very happy with.
It helps to have such great talent in this forum to bounce them off of.
