Nikon price increases?
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 11:03 AM by shireen
I've been reading about price increases in Australia, the UK, and Malaysia. Some took effect in February. More to come in March 1st. But i can't find anything definitive about plans to increase prices in the US when the Nikon fiscal year end before March.

Does anyone know what's going on? I've been wanting to get a D90, and was going to wait another month or two. But if prices are going to climb, i'd rather do it now.

1. That Makes No Sense At All
Considering the current economy.

3. answering my own question
From what i've read, the UK price increase is due to currency rate trends. So I went to this site, http://www.oanda.com/products/fxgraph/fxgraph.shtml , and plotted one year trends for the UK Pound and the US Dollar against the Yen. The trends are almost identical. So I'm going to take a wild guess that it would make sense to impose a price increase on the US as well.

Well, i'm off to find a good deal on the D90 w/18-200mm, a little earlier than planned. Better to be safe than sorry.
