1. My dear alfredo!
Ooh, this is so beautiful!

I love macro shots...

I love the distinct shape, and the colors, and the shallow depth of field...and so on!

Thank you for sharing this very successful pic, sweetie...

3. I love the seed pod, they are much more interesting than the flowers.
They remind me of an Italian Doublet.

2. Very cool,
and I do have some Nigella seeds in my spice rack, since I'm a big Indian food fan. They're also called "kalonji" or "onion seeds."

4. I haven't knowingly tried them, maybe I need to look at some recipes.
I had the camera on the fine setting, not the super fine. I will see if there is any difference in the detail.

5. They have kind of an oniony taste.
They are great used on flatbreads, like you would use sesame seeds or something.

8. I'm loaded for bear. If I feel up to it, I'm going to this 100 year old greenhouse
Edited on Sun Jul-19-09 09:59 PM by alfredo
that belongs to a friend. It is slowly melting back to earth, and it is lovely. I haven't been there for years, and it's time now that I have something more robust than a 3.1 mps.

I'm going to offload all my old images to a thumb drive, eventually burning them to DVD.

10. Thanks. The entry is from the old camera. It's now my wife's camera.
I still have a lot to learn before I am comfortable with it and able to use it to near its capability.

Tomorrow it is off the the decrepit old greenhouse. I will give it a workout.

11. Great pic and thanks
for the lesson on Nigella. I've never heard of them. They are simply beautiful - and a useful medicinal plant as well as a culinary plant!
