A new gadget...
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 02:27 PM by Blue_In_AK
HullBoss just surprised with one of these (more info here http://www.cottoncarrier.com/ ):

I haven't had a chance to use it "in the field" yet, but I can see where it's going to come in really handy the next time I'm out hiking. HullBoss is happy because he won't have to be my pack mule, carrying the extra camera, anymore. :) The camera absolutely can't fall out unless you turn it and pull up.

Here's what it looks like on:

1. You'll have to let some of us know

how it works when you have breast. On the picture it looks like it would be a bit uncomfortable for women.

I have my backpack case that holds the camera (or two) and lens in the bottom and has room for other stuff in the top. I just haven't found anything that works as good for me. When it is on you barely know it is there and is easy to get into.

and it works fine with "breast." You just have to adjust it so that it's comfortable. I like that it takes all the weight off the shoulders and it's really easy to release the camera out it's "holster" without having to stop and remove a backpack or swing the sling around to get into.

Here's the nice Canadian gentleman's response to FAQ re women:

Yes, in our tests, women of various body sizes all agreed the Cotton Carrier was comfortable to wear, and made their camera carrying experience much easier. The contours of the Cotton Carrier allows the Vest Harness to hug a woman's curves comfortably, yet securely enough to keep their camera in place.

The "breastplate" is actually quite flexible.

3. That is good. I must not of been the
only one that looked at it and wondered. lol Can't wait until you take it out for a test drive since that will mean more photos. BTW doesn't Aiman have the cutest little swirl cowlick?

4. He sure does.
He's such a little cutie-pie. Kristina's back to work now, so I'm sure she's not having as much time to take photos as she would like. I'll have to bug her again about it. :)

7. I like the way this system locks in.
There's no way your camera can fall out, yet with just a quarter turn it's out taking pictures. A nice invention. :)

9. That looks perfect for hiking
I'm sure we've all had the same thought when walking on uneven terrain: If I fall, do I save the camera or myself? That harness looks like a good set-up. Let us know about its comfort/convenience when you've had a chance to try it out.

10. Looks good for hiking, etc.
Could be a problem in crowds regarding securing the cameras from theft.

11. Hadn't thought of that
Mine's surgically attached to my arm. If someone wants to take it, I'm coming with it. Followed swiftly by my left foot.

12. I think it would be hard to steal

because the camera is locked in and the vest is fastened onto your body.
