Key West Sunday afternoon wanderings and street scenes...varied and weird
In the Martello Museum I looked down and surprised a young boy who was coming up the narrow old stairs in the tower

In the bar along Duvall street the ceilings are full of dollar bills and the visitors full of good cheer.

If you like Harleys and gear for them here is a store for the gear

Going down Duvall street one has no idea what one might find. One guy asked me if he could tell me a dirty joke for a dollar.
I was too startled, and laughed too hard to lift the camera for his face.

Adopted sister wanted to find money just to shut this singer up for a split minute. Mom said he sounded like a rusty washboard, and she was right,

A beautiful child from somewhere else holding up the biggest cookie she ever saw, her family is taking a picture and I sneak one in as well.

The iguana shots I posted before were free - this one was a dollar

At the end of the afternoon Mallory Square at sunset, I'm not showing the fire swallowing, the dog tricks or the people -instead here are a few of the boats
The HUGE cruise liner. Look at the people and guess the size. It all but turned on a dime within 5-10 min while my mouth hung open staring

Last but not least a sailboat. Not small, either, looking at the people on board.

1. Risking repetition, I say again "Wow".
And that last one -- memories of Dad when he hoped for a retirement that would find him in the Virgin Islands with a charter sailing business. He told my sister and me that we could work as galley wenches. Do I really need to mention our response to that?

Have never been to Florida, but your pictures are sure making me think about going some day.

2. Well, there's Florida
And then there are the Keys.....

Completely different vibes. Mira's fantastic shots make me want to go to the Keys, for sure. We are going to Grayton Beach in October, and believe me, not many scenes in common. However, it is way more sand beachy.

6. Come on down, the water is fine. Just got out of the ocean. The boats are
out and they make big waves for us swimmers. Now I must take a bike ride.
Life is good.

3. The girl with the cookie has an Ethiopian/Eritrean chin. The long nose
is another characteristic. Did she have a reddish cast to her skin?

7. Well, Alfredo, all I really noticed it that she was absolutely gorgeous and that
I had a chance to snap this photo with her completely unaware, she was frolicking with her family. none of them looked native.
The sun on her face was so bright, I can't make out more skin color than what we see in the picture/

8. The Ethiopians are handsome people.
Here's a video of dance and song. That is honey wine they are pouring. The dance is beautiful

9. Yes - wonderful intro into their culture. The family members around beautiful
"child" did not quite look like that so maybe we have different origin, though they were certainly not looking like natives.
Our natives, unfortunately, mostly look like they have actually snarfed up a lot of those cookies, rather than posed with them.

4. Very cool, Mira!
Lovely pics!

One of these will make a good photoshop prank!

I hope I can send back some photos that are as nice as yours. We arrived in Bucharest this evening after a three hour delay. The French aviation authorities wanted to inspect our chartered Moldavian Airlines plane to make sure it was safe.

The hotel is right across the street from the gorgeous concert hall. Will do my best to capture the flavor of the city.

5. Thank you, trusty elf, and I must say your photo of the
fountain will now replace my old one, same fountain, that is in my rotating photos on my everyday computer at home.
Waiting with great anticip...ppp...pation for your prank but even more so for photographs from Bucharest. You have the new camera, plus the audience in us.
Can't beat that. Enjoy and be safe.
