Thought you'd all enjoy this shot. Praying Mantis couple cavorting in the heather, although cavorting suggests more fun than they look like they're having.

to your photograph, it's damn awesome. Easily another potential winner of "Green", and a rarity of a shot in my opinion.

when I got a bit closer. Finally I caught them in a compromising position.
A neighbor who is on staff in the Northern parks (Fort Tryon and NY Botanical) sent me up there to photograph the heather for their website. I sent her this as well.

Seems to be somewhat of an evolutionary flaw in this one. One would thing that after several millenium of doing it this way one of these guys would catch on and go "OH HELL NO!!" and run to tell his brothers that this is one date not worth hooking up for.
