Anyone have experience Photographing Stars? |
|
With the new moon coming up this Friday, I'd like to go out and photograph some stars.
Any suggestions for the ISO / exposure time / F-Stop, etc?
I'll take the 20 or so minute drive out to some place REALLY dark.
I'll be using a 28mm, f3.5 lens, on a Canon Digital. My lowest ISO is 100 (highest is something stupid like 1600 or 3200, but I'd really like to avoid amplifier noise.)
I do have a bulb setting, so exposure time is infinitely variable.
For the first couple of frames, I'd like just stars with minimal trails.
Any idea on where to begin?
Thanks!

http://www.thenocturnes.com/The Resources section has a lot of helpful info. And please share your shots here. I'd be fascinated to see them.
