South of the Border
A few more from our recent trip to Puerto Morelos, Mexico (about 12 miles south of Cancun). The first and last photos were how they looked in the camera, with just a slight tweak to compensate for the natural light. The second and third photos are my first real attempts to dramatically enhance photos that I just couldn't get to come out the way I wanted, naturally. Despite the fact that they're enhanced, I really like them, and it's cool to push the color in various ways, and see what turns out.

Comments and critiques are always appreciated.

1. These are all great shots.
And you did a good job on you color adjustments on the second and third shots.

My apologies, but I'm just too lazy to bring up some of my sunset pics, but here is one that is (ahem) hopefully adequate. (no adjustments, just raw pic)

3. This is very interesting to me,
I'll have to try to play that way myself. I like to color adjust a little, and sometimes it helps, and sometimes I just go back to the original.
I like the postman best, the wood is fabulous, and the bird speaks to me, it reminds me of Danny DeVito, something about that hair behind the beak....

6. Louie DePalma.........
...........you cracked me up with the Danny DeVito analogy, Mira. RIGHT on the mark.

Actually........Danny did star as The Penguin, in the Batman movie, so he has a certain kinship with that gull, so-to-speak.

Thanks for the laugh!

7. Without seeing the unaltered version of #2
I have to say it's a gem. Whatever you did with it, you didn't overdo anything and the end result is dramatic and serene at once.

8. Many thanks, and here's the original.....
....not a bad shot, but a little washed out, and I just couldn't adjust it to where I liked it. So, I pushed the color, and came away with something I really like, albeit quite different than my usual comfort zone.

9. Great images
Love number 1 and the last! That is either a Forster's or Caspian tern in the last image.
