Fall colors coming to your area yet?
The trees here are as green as ever, but up in the mountains we are seeing some colors starting to emerge in the scrubs

and since I'm already here, I got a little distracted during my daughter's soccer game. A little fuzzy on the zoom and not sure of the technique to taking pics of birds in flight. Some hints would be appreciated.

1. Come and almost gone.
The birches are looking kind of sparse, but the cottonwoods are just starting to turn.

4. No hints available from me with people like some of your other respondents
around
I shoot, and I get lucky more often than not. And until I retire, I don't have time to learn more.
It's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I like both your shots. I especially like how the bird sits on the page.

To answer your question, it's rainy season in NC - and a bit chilly, too. My bedroom is at the top of the house as of late and I all but sleep in the treetops and as I sit here with my laptop in my cozy set-up I look out the window and the huge full trees are speckled with golden leaves.

Fall is in the air, and though I like fall, I don't like that it brings winter.
I cannot imagine, in spite of the beauty, how our Blue in AK handles so much cold.

5. Lots of rain promises lots of reds
This is usually a desert state but we had a lot of rain mid season...I har it promises more reds, so I am relly looking forward to the next couple of weeks!

You'd said, "I especially like how the bird sits on the page." The shot was actually much further away and almost perfectly centered. Huge, HUGE accident on the centering. I'd read an article just a week or so ago on "the rule of three" regarding picture taking. So when I zoomed in. I merely readjusted the location of the hawk to coincide with that rule lol. And THEN, someone (you) actually made a comment on the location too. Interesting!

6. Color? What color? Here, not so much........
.....over the last 2 weeks, the Dallas area has gotten LOTS, and LOTS, and LOTs more rain. Things are pretty green, and we really needed the rain, just not so much, all at once.

Soon, well move into our autumn mode.........and enjoy a banquet of light browns, dark browns, and medium browns. LOLOL!!!

So please......post more COLOR!
