my very first DU photo
hi all ...

suffice it to say i'm no photographer ... still, it's great when you're up really early and the neighborhood critters decide to cooperate ...

this picture was taken yesterday morning in my front yard ... i was no more than 10 feet away from my "Early Morning Visitor" ...

2. Welsh! You're a natural!
Your composition is right on. You framed the deer with the oleanders in front of her, which adds depth. There's no sky, highway, trash dumpster, or car to be seen to distract from the natural beauty of the subject. You also caught her in a portait moment...looking at you.

Don't be so modest. I'm sure she's happy that you decided to shoot her this way, instead of the other anyhow.

3. thanks for the encouragement ...
the truth is though, i snapped about 10 shots of this deer and picked the best one ... i took one shot using the zoom where the deer filled the whole picture but it seemed much better surrounded by the plants ...

i took these shots with a digital camera through my dining room window ...

5. Great deer!
How nice to be able to share your yard with such critters. Hope you don't have a vegitable garden, though. She'll make it her misison to eat all your greens! :)

Nice color and composition. Welcome to the photography group! :hi:

6. Hope it's not your last
:hi:

If it only took 10 shots to come up with that great one you're doing fantastic. I took about 120 snapshots today and I'm struggling to find ONE that is worth keeping.

9. Very nice shot
The deer looks like it is posing for you. I too love the color mixture in the pic as well. You are lucky to have these critters in your backyard. Here is what visits me.
