A couple more moon shots

1. these are interesting

The moon looks a bit bigger than I would have expected. In the second one, the moon doesn't even look round. It looks more like a modern painting than a photo. I wish I could comment on it technically, but I'm just not knowledgeable enough. I really, really like the second one.

2. Not round

Your eyes don't deceive you. The moon is indeed not round. The first one was taken two days after full moon (hard to tell since you can't really see the moon). The second image was taken four days after full moon. At this point, the moon is supposedly at 86% luminance. So, it's gibbous moon.

3. what's cool about it

The cloud appears to divide it in half, but one half is not equal to the other (for the obvious reason that it isn't a full moon). But it does look something like an optical illusion--at least, to me :shrug:
