Book recommendation requested
I would like to do more photography and would like to learn more of the artistic side. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who would like to do some artsy stuff (excuse my technical jargon) with a camera? The book should cover basics like framing and lighting, as well as more interesting things.

Thanks!

1. There are so many to choose from
if I were you I'd go the local library, describe for the reference librarian what you described for us and they will take you to that section where you can look over the books for yourself! :)

2. Read reviews of various books on Amazon and B&N then
seek them out at the local bookstore. I do a lot of window shopping online, then buy from brick and motar stores.

5. I just didn't know where to begin.

Someone gave me a link to a discussion on certain books. Now that I have an idea where to begin! Thanks for the response.

6. Photographer's Eye
One book that was recommended to me that I've since bought, read, and recommended to someone else is The Photographer's Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos by Michael Freeman.

10. I haven't gotten ahold of that one, but we have two older ones of his
that I mentioned in my reply below. I just love looking at the pictures, even if I don't understand 90% of what is said. LOL

9. We have four books kicking around here that seem to get read the most
A Nat'l Geographic Field Guide: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=national+geographic+field+guide&x=0&y=0 (I foget which one. Has a cheetah on the cover, I think.)

An old pre-digital era Kodak's Joy of Photography: http://www.amazon.com/Joy-Photography-Eastman-Kodak-Co/dp/0201577879/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260681467&sr=1-3

And two from the Amphoto Photography workshop series by Michael Freeman:

One is Image: http://www.amazon.com/Image-Designing-Effective-Pictures-Photography/dp/0817440135/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260681574&sr=1-1

The other is Light.
