1. Those are fantastic. I really like the feel of the last one (I've always been a big
fan of snow). What is a Valu-Mart subway? I'm just curious since the sign seems to be external to the store. I'd imagine it refers to a sandwich, but being a NYC boy, I'm conditioned to subway entrances on street corners like that.

4. The V-shaped logo on the subway sign is actually the
Toronto Transit Commission branding. But it does strangely mirror the Valu-Mart logo. The grocery store is adjacent to the subway entrance, and actually there's still a door from the subway station into the store vestibule, but they blocked it off some years ago.

2. I love the first one.
What a mood shot. It reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel - "I turn my collar to the cold and damp."

5. I like the Simon & Garfunkel association
which I'm too thick to have thought of.

We were at a funeral this afternoon, with a steady 20 mph breeze and temps hovering around 4 degrees. My collar was useless against the cold and damp today, but you've given me a soundtrack for this awful day.

3. You caught the drift.
Lost the V of the lights and replaced them with the V on his butt.

Seriously, I like these, and it makes me happy to now live in a place where if it snows twice a year we are shocked.
My favorite is the happy third one.

7. Thanks, Mira. I liked seeing these kids making lemonade out of lemons
or at least hockey out of winter.

There was a tinge of regret that I wasn't carrying a telephoto so I could have filled the frame with the kids alone, but the nifty fifty reported that scene pretty much as I saw it, with a sharpness my own two eyes are no longer capable of. I'm glad you liked it, and that their happiness somehow communicated itself through the photo.

8. Wonderful images...
...I like how each of them captures an aspect of winter, and the black and white really works for all of them.
