Dark Sun
My thanks to Pier 1 for this candle holder, the snowy weather, Desaturate, and other neat stuff in GIMP. Oh and my wife for letting me open the back door long enough to get this picture. It was 10 degrees outside, so that was a real sacrifice on her part.

1. Really, REALLY nice
Who woulda thought that a Pier 1 candleholder would come to life?

You need to take a bow yourself!

Personally, I am not stepping my tippytoes outside right now.

2. I just leaned out the door, and with one hand, snapped the shot. Glad the
first shot worked. I was pushing my luck with my wife. She hadn't had her first cup of coffee, so there is a rather broad exclusion zone, and draconian ground rules concerning cheerful morning sounds like breathing and blinking.

The caffeine has kicked in and she is back to her sweet normal self.

I decided to play with RAW for a bit. Jpg has been OK for posting on the internet, but I might as well give this camera a try in RAW.

Glad you liked the shot.

Note the bit of sepia tone?

4. Thanks. I wanted to take a bit of the bright off the snow.

5. And you did it! It's just cold and wet/foggy here, we rarely get snow

I suspect this will change when I get to Philly; haven't checked the weather reports for Tuesday yet.

EDIT: The larger light sensor on either the G10 or G11 are mighty tempting, at this point. I need to stay with what I have for awhile, though, simply as a matter of personal discipline.

6. That's nice. Where's Orson Wells, in the shadows?
I see so many great cameras out there that I am lusting over.

8. That is a very cool shot, alfredo
very cool!

I don't have the money for another camera either, especially when I have yet to fully learn what can be done with the one I have.

9. Exactly. A mattress and box springs come first.
