Call of the Walleye
Fishermen just below Lock and Dam 15 on the mighty Mississippi, January 17, 2010.

I like fishing too, but not when the shore looks like this:

1. my hubby watches fishing shows on tv
Seriously

:eyes:

They have one where everything has to be caught within the city limits! That's pretty cool, as a concept. All around is industry, or parks, bridges, buildings, etc.

That looks like a great amphitheater. And, you know what? It maybe isn't all that cold. It is very nice weather here at the Tennessee River, and there is still a lot of ice around the creek.

No walleye here though. That sounds like the north!

The weather has to be about perfect for me to want to get out in the boat.

2. Your hubby will like this:
Kentucky Afield is the oldest outdoor show in America. The Tim Farmer, the host only has one useful arm, but that doesn't slow him down. You should see him bow fish. He pulls the string with his teeth. I saw him spearing Pike. In water the image is displace vertically, so narrower the fish, the harder the target.

Here's some good Youtube content for him.

Tim is in the red hat.

Recipes too:

You can tell she is from Ky because she calls Flour "Flair."

4. Heh, heh
As if he needs this....... When we get back home and we are off this dialup I'll get him to check it out.

Thanks!! I am sure he would be inspired by a one good armed fisherman.

Hubby throws all the fish back so I guess I won't need recipes.

3. Nothing tastier than Walleye (& they're fun to catch too)
Looks like it's about spawning time by the look of yhe water. I'm surprised there's not more ice in the river.

I've also heard there are a lot of bald eagles in your area this year.

6. The river was frozen last week but the thaw over the weekend took care of the ice.
There was still some behind the dam though. You've heard right about the eagles, there's hundreds of them this year. Some of them are actually nesting here year round now. Where I shot this pic is a good spot for viewing them when there isn't a flotilla of bass boats scaring them away.

7. Man that looks cold.
The misty background sets off the boats and the birds really well.
