A new SmugMug gallery - Seward and the Polar Bear Plunge |
|
I've put up a new gallery at my SmugMug site for our trip to Seward this weekend - landscapes, a parade, the jumpers, and turkey bowling. (Frozen, that is. :) ) http://northernvisions.smugmug.com/Events/Seward-Polar-Bear-Plunge/10984864_2CoeW#767885245_XQceF

I can't believe those people jumping head first! That kind of shock can't be good for the body.
These are really good and definitely capture the spirit of the community.

to click on long presentations. I would kick my own butt from here to Alaska had I not clicked on these photos of yours. Blue, you have outdone even yourself. I was going to say that the photos of the travel to the place were maybe your best that I had seen, clustered together one right after the other as they are, but then we got to the jumpers, and I can't believe how you chronicled that event.
Yours must be the best batch of this jumping insanity available. Some of them are prize winning in their own right, and I hope the people depicted know they have been photographed and come and buy their jump pictures. Each one just a hoot, and the photography is spectacular. You had a great vantage point, wherever it was, and that helped. But you pushed the button in the right moment with perfect exposure every time and I am blown away.
Thanks! I feel like I have now been to Alaska. :)

5. Thank you so much, Mira... |

I knew it was quite a few pictures (believe me, I have a LOT more :) ), but I did want to post enough of them to provide the full flavor of the event. We had such a great time, and we're definitely planning to go back next January.

7. How much fun to see these |

The mid jump pictures are fantastic, and I can't believe they wouldn't be a commercial hit with the people involved! Thank you.
