1. OK - here goes
both are too big for me to see without scrolling, and to me pos/neg space and the crop are always important to me.

Altogether the first one is my choice.
Strong diagonal placement of interesting colorful stuff. A demeanor of power and accomplishment. The name on the shirt, the casually flung leather jacket. A photo that inspires inquiry and a number of looks.

The second one, though I would like it a lot were there not the other one, looks more like a guy who missed the bus, and is amusing himself with props, but is not succeeding.

Heck, good work, and you asked.
But if you could post them a little smaller, I could study them better.

I do not want to fire up my computer with the 24" monitor.
OK

3. Excellent.
Together these photos should elicit quite a few responses.
And I stand by my original opinion.

4. +1
The first one to me has a much more interesting composition. I like that you have to look all around to see what is going on, whereas in the second one it's all laid out.
I think the emphasis on the first one is much more on the face, where the second one doesn't really have a focal clear focal point. Also the lack of the jacket in the first one shows the name.

5. The first one shows more character. A touch of humor is
shown on his face. His name shows too.

He looks too severe in the second.

6. I too prefer the first one.
Mira articulated it quite well.

I like it because I get more of a real sense that he's lost in thought as he peers out into the distance, whereas the other one, while taken only slightly further away, loses quite a bit of expressivity in the face. Also, i feel that the lighting in the first one lends it much in terms of atmosphere. If the second one had some shadows and a bit of light on his face, it might be more effective.

They're both very nice though, I must say. Chapeau!

7. The main reason I like the first one
Is that you can see "Forrest" on his shirt. The second one looks a bit tame, almost like a guy in a suit with a briefcase.

Can you get a bit of the glare off the face in the first one? To me it is a bit distracting, though it may not matter to others.

These are both awesome pictures, though. I love the tilt of the head. He seems to know where he is coming from. You definitely caught the personality in both pictures, and that's the most important thing.

A perfect Poker hand.
