Spring is here, and a happy Pre-Easter week to all - especially to CC from my "shovel and rake"bird
Edited on Tue Mar-30-10 10:27 PM by Mira

After the morning chill wore off, I took some time to play in the yard and garden.

Obligatory Geraniums

Same with a start for an herb garden

Who would believe we had 8 tornadoes in the surroundings night before last.

The Easter greeting for CC who loves this critter

1. Hard to beleive you had all that snow not too long ago.
Seems like the trees all burst into bloom almost over night, doesn't it?

2. "Things in Mira's yard" is the new "things on Robb's desk"!
Always good to see what's going on chez-vous. Happy Easter and Happy Spring!

3. Merci beaucoup - and look at this:
I just wrote a little piece involving my yard, and how differently a "Personwithfunctioningbrainsandeyes" and a "Stuckinthemud" reacted to it today.

8. I just responded to that, quite incoherently.
It really got me thinking, and these days it seems the more I think the less certain I am about what to conclude. It's an intriguing piece and I really enjoyed reading it, though not as much as I enjoy seeing pictures of things in your yard.

4. I almost missed this. A big TY
on not only my fav bird feeder but the spring dachshund too. I love your yard art. How are the bird handling the neon eggs in their feeder? lol Spring is slowly making its way here but not many flowers yet so your pictures are good for the soul and give me hope that it will be here soon. I need to get out and play in the dirt for a while. I think I need to learn how to weld. With all the farms around here wonder how many things re-purpose into yard art.

5. OH good! You found my calling out to you.
That silly thing holds eggs at Easter, pine cones at Christmas, ears of corn for the squirrels, seed for the birds. Whatever trips my imagination.
Bows at Christmas, or a reindeer tiara with LED lights that "speak up".

The squirrels are mad. They open up the eggs to look inside. Well, that's too bad. There are many feeders around they can raid.

The last person who wanted a welder was my brother Tom. I bought it for him, and he made some of the things in my yard. Unfortunately he smoked all the time and it did him in.
His wife, who does not like me much, kept the welder.

Did you see the link to a thread I just wrote tonight that has my yard featured a bit?
I posted the link in my reply to JeffR in this same one here.

In that thread a person from MY NEIGHBORHOOD said she drives by my house and enjoys the stuff in it all the time.
That made me so happy I have not even responded to it yet.

I feel that it makes my yard legit.

LOL

6. the penguin really made me laugh!
Thanks for posting these. Right now I am on a much slower than usual dialup so I will get a better look when I get home. I have to say I love your yard pictures or I wouldn't have even attempted to open this.

7. Awww - thanks for saying that - Celabration - but you know what....
in the thread I linked in JeffR's reply to this post, a person came in who DRIVES BY MY HOUSE she says - and says she likes my yard and knows it and loves it.

That made me really happy. I'm for real after that!

And you saying you braved dial up for it makes me really happy too.
I would brave dial up for your birds, I would, and I am an impatient one!

9. Thanks for sending us over from GD. Your yard art (and herbs) are wonderful...
I love love love that pitchfork bird. Wish *I* could drive by and see it, but SoCal is a little far away. :hi:
