Photo contest theme discussion. |
|
Most of you seem to agree that we should have a theme for any future photo contests. So what should theme of the next DU photo contest be?
I was thinking "Winter" or maybe "cold" something simple like that for now...If we continue doing these on a monthly basic, perhaps a seasonal theme will be best at first, just to get things started.
For example, next month's theme could be Love. A little laster on we could have a Spring theme. Around the Fourth of July we could have a theme "Democracy" or "America"...
So whatcha all think?

My suggestion would be a variation on the idea of winter -- "ice and snow" - my reasoning being that these can be quite difficult to photograph well.

We could do an actual monthly theme to start. For example, "January" could have a picture of snow, a discarded Christmas tree, a photo of a MLK Day parade. "February" could include a picture of Washington or Lincoln statue, a valentine, or a groundhog--or, more snow. March is a St. Patrick's Day party pic, something to do with women's history (March is women's history month), etc.
Just a thought from a newbie to this group.

|
for April we could have the theme be "Humorous Photos"...
I think your Barbie pic would fit right in there! :)

6. I think a general theme is a good idea |
|
so many different ways to photograph a theme and not limited to only, say, landscapes, but could include abstract, or persons, or animals, wildlife, or just about anything.

Just give us a few days to select the photo we would like to enter. It would be nice if we could figure out a way to have more than just 10 entries. Don't really know how to do it without using a poll. Maybe just a thread in which everyone can post their photos for a day or two and then we can post a link to that thread in DULounge and let people peruse the photos and vote on which one they like best? Just trying to get around the 10 entries limit imposed by the poll...
