A few from Day One
Here are a few shots from our first day out. We went up the Glenn Highway from Anchorage to Lake Louise, about 150 miles.

This first shot is in the area of the Matanuska Glacier. I took better pictures of the glacier itself on the way back (better weather), but I like this one for the low-hanging clouds.

This is the Malaspina Glacier (I think) as seen from the road back to Lake Louise

Every cloud has a silver lining

And just a few of the lake itself. This is just the first of a chain of connected lakes accessible only by boat -- which we poor folks don't have. :(

2. The second photo is quite striking!
The depth of field is breath-taking, although I'm sure it doesn't (can't) capture 1/10th of the true beauty!

My favorite it that last one. I'm such a sucker for wildflowers! But I think what I really like best is the "wave" ove land that the flowers are growing on. This is a wonderfully composed photo, Blue.

4. I agree...
...although they're all excellent photos. (I think, however, that I'm going to wait until tomorrow to check out the remaining threads, when I can take my laptop to the library and get a broadband connection. Dial-up is just too painful!)

And I need to get back to Alaska. The only time I've been there was nine years ago, when we took a ship up the Inside Passage, and thus only got as far north as Glacier Bay.

3. I'm moving to Kansas
That way I won't feel the pressure that you and flow' put on me. Just when I was ready to post a few mountain snapshots...
