But Lord help you if that's all you can think after seeing the huge retrospective curated by Philip Brookman at the Corcoran in Washington, D.C., "Helios: Eadweard Muybridge in a Time of Change," a time-and-motion study of the restless man who pioneered high-speed photography.

1. I saw a similar (maybe the same) exhibit years ago when I happened to be in DC.
