1. Schema Thing, best bet is to alert on the "April" threads & ask
the mods to lock them. These new threads should be all the explanation they need.

9. that made me laugh!!
Seriously, LAUGH!

I reserve the right to change my entry. But out of thousands of pictures, this is the only thing that even remotely fits the theme, and I happen to also love it, for some unknown reason. :silly:

This is going to be very diverse. Yours truly exemplifies tenderness..........and more.

This will be diverse and fascinating, I think all first four are really fine examples of that.

16. Went back to get better light and background
Edited on Wed May-12-10 09:41 AM by Celebration
My first one was just a quick snapshot with no thought of anything but the words. I thought I would try to get the water in the background if I could, and then I discovered the hearts on the adjacent side of the pole. I tried all sorts of configurations of background, emphasis on different parts of the pole, light (sun was in and out--partly cloudy). It was kind of an interesting process. As usual, I didn't know exactly what I was doing, and quite a few of them looked almost the same. I ruled out one with a woman walking her dog in the background, not because of that, but because of some other reason. Since I was there earlier than usual, snapped a shot of a duck with a fish, too!!

Both show total focus but way different moods.
Crazy indeed.

21. replying to this to give it a kick
And to say, I think I have fallen in love with the pictures of children!! What great additions to the group. I love cute and adorable, anyway.

Maybe this is a bit strange, but I like the contests for the group content rather than the who wins. In most things I am a bit of a competitive person too, so it feels a little different (???). Sometimes I have been known to enter something not so great, and I feel bad because I feel like I am bringing the group down. Does that make sense? It makes me happy to post something good to bring the group up. I'm not generally such a socialist.

22. Sandnsea - on your precious photo
the backs of the chairs form the top of a heart. I only later saw the hearts on the shirt.
A sweet little girl!

23. I wish it had turned out better
When she showed up with that shirt, I knew I wanted to try to get a picture with those hearts. I tried having her ride on her rocking horse, on the arm of the chair, etc. I just have the one point and shoot camera and I hate it anyway. It just sucks, especially for indoor pictures. But then when my grandson filled her hair with chocolate and she was such a mess with the bowl, I took a bunch and this is the only one that I really liked as far as her expression and the chairs, etc. I know it's just awful technically, but I figured since not a lot of people were entering I would go ahead.

25. I love it when I know a little background about a photo.
I looked it over again, and like it even more, I think the voters may well pick up on the subliminal big heart created by the chairs, and there is nobody who will miss the chocolate smeared on the rim.

This theme seems to have some of us stumped, the entries are slow to trickle in. I laud you, and your point and shoot. I found another photo I really like, and I can't yet decide what to enter. The new one was taken with a simple point and shoot.

The choosing and deciding are the most exciting parts of a contest to me. Either by privately weighing the entries you might have towards what is already entered, or the asking for help in a poll.
And the posting is the highlight of the process.
Because then I am decided, and come what may, I'm off and running, and can let it go.

24. Cuates - (Buddies)
This is an old photo I took, quite a while ago (before digital photography)

So it is a scanned image of the original.

I hope that passes muster vis-a-vis processing.

27. I like it. Glad you didn't bump up the contrast. Shows that good things
comes from disciple. You would have lost that "haze of time" that add so much to the image. The lack of contrast tells a story.

As I see it we ended up with three threads of 9.
That's a fine showing, and you are doing a very fine job.
