Poll question: I'd submit a "Crazy Heart" if I knew which one. Are you willing to tell me which one you like? Poll

I realize the interpretation is up to the photographer, but I'm struggling a bit after looking at the submissions.
These to me represent "Crazy Heart" images, except for the one on the beach, which to me is just sweet. I don't know the people.

1. I voted for the last one
but don't listen to me. Every one of my entries has totally crashed & burned so far.

3. OH - I will listen to you
when you look at mine, it's not the same as looking at your own.
Your reaction is immediate and without the emotion of it being your own photo, and your own memory of taking it etc.
The emotion is strictly on what I put in front of you, and your choice is very valuable.

I struggle with choosing a submission every bit as much as the others who talk about it.

I have learned that putting out what I have in order to get feedback has been valuable.
For a while I thought it might be suspect, after all we are in competition, but I learned that the camaraderie of the group supersedes jealousies or petty issues.

That's what makes us this very special forum on DU.

My criteria for choosing is that when I make the choice I am really clearly happy about it, and just let it "go".
I also try to do something that is a bit "arresting" when the person views it, fresh, if possible, in other words I try hard not to be dull.

Sometimes I succeed.
Thanks for your input.

4. The last one.
The first one doesn't show up on my screen, but no matter. The last one is just perfect.

5. Can't see them all for some reason
but I love the black/white of the wine drinkers! Fantastic shot! Fun loving, whimsical and thought provocative about relationships and this particular couple. LOVE IT!!

7. The first and last images both do it for me

but I think the last image (b and w) is a little more compelling as a photograph.

8. Yeah,
I agree about the quality of the photo. I was also driving, you know, when I took the first one.

I had seen the man and dog at the Walgreen's parking lot, and we had talked a minute.

9. Hi Mira and late
welcome home and go with the last photo. There is magic in that one. Though what is on his hat? I want them to be fishing flies but doesn't look like it is.:) Going to go listen to my Governor on the TV. No Triple Crown this year. :hi:

10. Thanks, CC, for welcoming me back. About the hat:
It's a traditional Tyrolean hat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrolean_hat

The badges are usually trinkets bought at places one has visited, or hiked to. The brush like thing is a "Gamsbart"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamsbart

Many European men have these hats, it's not unlike the traditional Stetsons in Dallas. LOL

I took the photo about 6-7 weeks ago at a party local friends gave for people they met last year in a bar while traveling in Europe.
They invited them to come visit them in the US, and sure enough, they came.
Do you remember by chance that over a period of a few months I posted photos of friends traveling in Germany/Switzerland/Italy where the
husband kept sending them to me from his blackberry, and the photos were very painterly?

So they brought some fun loving Belgians into the US to visit with them, and I was invited for a celebratory evening, and brought my camera, of course.

12. I was happy and honored with the votes,
and I think subconsciously kept holding out for my own favorite to get one.
Bingo. You did it.
I thank you.

When the graying wine drinkers kept getting the nod, I was reminded of the joke of the son who had received two shirts from his mother for his birthday, and the next day rang her door bell wearing one of them.
She broke into tears and wailed:
"So you did not like the other one..."

I myself think one and two are not really contenders for this theme.
Three is my own favorite as I said, and four is what I might use based on popular opinion.
Thank you all who gave me your votes.

But I have one more idea in mind, and I'll go out shooting tomorrow...
Maybe I will run into Cassandra.

:)
