A few more from the Conservatory
I'm in a black and white mood lately. It's still a fairly new technique for me. Do these work for you? Let me know what you think.

Rattle snake plant:

No idea what these are, but love how the centres look like spiders:

Fractals are awesome:

1. The second is princess flowers.
Aren't the stamens wild?

2. This is what I love about DU
There's always someone with the answers to my questions. Thank you. Princess flowers. They look like they're going to jump up and run away on their little robot-spider legs.

3. Each one to me is quite phenomenal.
You have wonderful contrast in them. Did you set your camera to b/w (I have never done that yet) or convert them later?

Really special, Tin. I'm glad you are posting these.

4. It's converted later
However, I had b&w in mind when taking the pictures and looked for high contrast situations. I've never tried the b&w settings on the camera because I always forget. GIMP has a few options, besides the slider, for desaturation by lightness, luminosity or average. I don't really know what I'm doing so I just click the option that looks best. It's good to know you think they look ok, because I wasn't really sure.

6. you know
I just realized--the details of the plants are more evident in black and white than in color. Good job on these.

8. I like the first two.
The third seems to need some more mid-tones. Things seem to blend into the background too quickly.

10. I agree
I kind of like the "moodiness" of it though.
