4. The first was in-camera B&W. The second used the GIMP
plugin Filtered BW.

We had a nice rain as I drove to the location I wanted to photograph. As soon as I got there the rain tapered off, but the clouds remained. The colors jumped out, so I decided not to restrict myself to B&W. I did get some nice color images, but Black and White is where I'm at right now.

7. The first one looks like ice thawing
At first I thought it was ice melting on a ceramic flower. It took me a moment to understand what I was looking at. Very cool looking, and yes I agree with the above comments that it is slightly disturbing in a mind-bending kind of way.

The water drops in the second one are phenomenal.
