1. Love the waders

Great blue heron is one of my favorite subjects. This is a really nice photo, showing the majesty of the bird.

2. Maybe next time I'll catch one in a little closer.

When I first found this particular spot I saw one no more than 15 yards from a point I could have easily reached. By the time I grabbed my camera and went back, it was flying toward the mouth of the Bellamy River. I would have liked better light ,too, but, this was good enough to justify the trip. The tide runs on its own schedule.

That is the challenge of photographing birds. You do it on THEIR terms.........always. It is just too much fun!
