1. 6 days left on the auction...
Count on the price reaching astronomical levels by the last couple of minutes.

2. It's a drool worthy camera. I'm waiting to find one in
a yard sale. Of course I am getting older by the day.

3. I'd stay away from this one

If the serial number begins with a CU, CR, CE meaning they were built 1957, 1958, 1959 respectively, you might want to pass it up since the parts are no longer made for these models and are virtually imposable to repair and if you look closely at the picture of the screen it's a CU model.

I work with film from time to time and it can be a bit pricey especially shooting B&W since it's not like you can drop that stuff off at a CVS, not that I would really want to.

Thanks for the heads up on the Hasselblad, when it comes to a 500C you have to look for a 1960+ you're pretty safe if it has clips that allow you to remove the screen and replace it with the optional screens.

For future reference you can tell the year of manufacture from the first 2 letters.

6. I like the old cameras. My mother had several. One is a very old
Kodak box cameras. Loved the old Hawkeye Bakelite camera.

I still miss my YashicaD TLR.

12. Processing the film yourself is cheap and easy.

Color film requires careful temperature control (1/4 degree) but other than that it is not a problem.

Printing could be an issue because do it yourself darkrooms are harder to find now.

8. LOL
Well it did cross my mind, till I saw the serial number.

Honestly, I'm very wary of buying vintage camera equipment on ebay from anyone other than a dealer.

on that course.

The Goodwill around the corner has some great stuff like Armani suits, and Nikon cameras. I check in from time to time to see what they have.

10. very funny. i just bought the same camera, and was coming
in here to post about it. i am something of an idiot, but i really felt i needed a good medium format camera to shoot my artwork. i have already had state of the art at the time scans that are worthless now. i am so grateful that i spent the money to do good transparencies.
anyway, so i bought one of these, and i don't see the serial number. which tells you a little about how much i know.
luckily he also sold me a book, so i will look it up.
in the meantime, any advice is appreciated. i will maybe start another thread when i have some actual questions.

13. Well it appears
that I wasn't the only one that noticed the serial number since the final price pretty much the value of the glass.
