10. Thanks. I used the blur tool on the background to
isolate the subjects. Point and shoot cameras aren't not known for short DOF.

4. They were sweet kids. Their parents very very happy
with the images. I found if you engage the parents and the kids, let them see the photos, they become partners in the process.

Children of immigrants and their parents are less guarded, and respond well to kindness. In an era of immigrant bashing, a smile goes a long way.

7. The fountain is the best place to meet and photograph people.
He has such a sweet disposition.

8. smiles!
I have 5 children, I sheltered abused kids, I taught in both private and public schools... I delight in childhood and wondrous curiosity.

I am saddened that often in society we see children lose their wonderment and innocence and curiosity much too soon (my experience in schools is that by 4th grade, it is dwindling)

Your pictures capture what still is! thank you

9. Thanks. When photographing, I try to be respectful to
the kids and their parents. It doesn't take too long for the kids to lose any shyness.

When I was in Africa, the villagers would send the kids out to see if a stranger is friendly. Only until they see your intent do the adults emerge.

13. These all but bring tears to my eyes, but
they are very happy tears. Your portraits are getting ever more wonderful and spontaneous. You are inspiring these kids to be trusting and therefore free to be themselves.
Love this work.
Thanks!

14. Thanks. I was getting tired of my usual subjects. I had to push myself
To get out and relate to real live people. It's been good for my photography, and it has been good for me.
