Owl - Private Dance Performance
In the exact same spot - three days later - I again found the owl, sitting.

This time I think it was waiting to perform for me

First a welcoming stare

Then the haughty faced one legged show of impending performance

Pivot - spread the pretty wings and show the cute butt -

A bow to my silent applause

And don't miss the BIG (now get out of here) SMILE

I love it. You obviously forgot to brings a live meal to him/her. Be sure to have a moveable feast for him next time.

I went to see what kind of owl it was (burrowing owl?) and found this, http://www.fla-keys.com/news/news.cfm?sid=7348 I hope you are still there, you and mom might want to go check it out.

4. Good grief! Converted to 35mm terms, you shot these at
a 105mm focal length. He's either a huge fan of yours or a ham or just a stubborn cuss who wouldn't be moved no matter how close you were. Great set to go along with all the other fine stuff you've captured way down there.

10. WELL,
he was about 6 feet from me at the start. There were 2 of them, just like a few days ago, and one immediately flew into the tree I think they live in.
Then I inched closer and number two just put on the show. I was very close then, he did not care a bit. Using my regular simple lens and my studied and learned inching closer without a sound, while sending messages of peace love and non-aggression.......
Glad you like my travelogue.

15. I can barely get that close to our dogs with the camera and not
have them scatter. Good job!

7. What a cutie!
He must have been saving that dance just for you. Your holiday pics are amazing. I'm slowly going through them when I have time, enjoying every one.

8. Thanks, Tin. That means a lot.
Right now, really late, there is a storm extraordinaire.
Tropical.
Loud.
Wet.
Scary.
The cousin is out there running around in it, looking at how much the waves in the ocean are increasing.
Mom is asleep. And I'm enjoying the exquisite experience on the balcony. Dripping wet.
