Taking flight - soon - and the reports will end
Today we arrived at the pier for the swim in the ocean and I found this visual alliteration scenario

Then I climbed the rocks of yesterday's shots and inched out to take a picture of a bird for Celebration (et al) and Mom got mad and let me have ti for taking chances

Right after that I got this shot I slipped and banged my shin just like Mom thought I would
(look at the blue eye on this bird, I'm proud I got that)

To calm her down I told her I would take her to the Bar at the Ocean, a marvelous dive where a guitarist sings at the beach and buy her a Mai Tai for old times

Then, on the pier, I saw this scene, and wondered if that little girl will ever be able to show her Mom a good time after she has gotten old, about a half a century from now.

1. I'm really sad our (well, your) vacation is coming to an end.
The Mai Tai one is my favorite shots of your mom so far.

And nice find for an alliteration pic! And as to that little girl, she has the drama and comedy of a lifetime ahead of her, but she looks self-assured and poised. I wish her all the best in the strange future world she will inhabit when all of us here are gone.

2. That first picture could have been taken in the Mideast.
It reminds me of my times in Massawa Eritrea.

Love the last one

3. Oh Mira!
I think this is your best group in the series! The shots are extraordinary and your commentary is brilliant! I especially love the composition of the last one with the parent's hand and the child reaching for it and the metaphorical quality of the pier leading (back or forward, you choose)as it relates to your thoughts about the child. I never would have thought to frame the shot the way you did (to great effect). Wonderful!!!

6. I'm so going to miss your
vacation. But you also fond the coolest things to share when you are at home. Safe travels, give your mom hugs from this fan and tell her thank you for sharing you and the vacation.

9. Thank you for the lovely vicarious vacation
and your delightful commentary.

Great shot of your mom sipping her drink! What an amazing look of openness and innocence is in that little girls face! Well framed that shot is too, with the parent's outstretched hand in the corner.

I'm in Vienna now, and know where Trautsohngasse is. I used to walk by it everyday on the way back and forth from my hotel a while back. I remember seeing the Beethoven plaque on the wall on the corner. On Thursday I'll see if I can get in to the Hof where you used to play and take some pictures for you.

10. I'm so thrilled.
I know you will do what you can.
I'm tickled that you found it, including the plaque, and that these places of my 10 year old wanderings are real and can be visited.
I'm pretty certain I have not been back to Vienna since the year I went to school there in fourth grade.

Thank you for taking me seriously, and thanks for your kind comments on my vacation shots.
