How was I to know one of the pesky loners was in the group.

2. This is so interesting
and complex for what seems like a simple photo. You and your shadows adding all that complexity. :) BTW this is my 4th look and still having a hard time with putting it into words but look the photo.

4. Thanks CC - so much.
I second guessed myself with this one, thinking it had not been worth posting.
I went to buy these glasses, which I did not need, drove into the country to get them (not hard to do, small city here)
and in spite of hitting my forehead and saying:"Why...are you doing this?" I persevered.

I found a woman from my home county, miserable, utterly lonely, with a cancer stricken husband in the last stages in a back room.
She is from the city my mother lives in, knows the home my mother lives in, and after the death she is returning there immediately.
I found out the "Why".
She needed me.

So there's a little story for you today.

6. If you pay close attention
and follow your instincts
and study the outcome
you'll find the reasons to pay attention the next time.

BUT YOU KNOW THAT
(I see you in the Spirituality group...:))

7. It's uncanny really
Sychronicity begets more synchronicity. Sometimes it comes in clusters so be on your toes. I'm sure the universe uses the web a lot, and especially craigslist.:)

8. So now I have to ask
are you going to go out and visit her again? I think you have made a new friend. Course that is not only if you have the time but if she is open to it. I feel for the woman, it is not easy to be the caregiver and so much harder when you feel isolated. If she hasn't checked into it please have her check on a hospice for help (if i the husband is at the end of life). They are wonderful people that help so much both physically and emotionally.

The story does outshine the photo but it also makes the photo that much more interesting.

9. When I got home I already had an email from her
thanking me for "coming out to meet her". I wrote back and said we'd be in touch however she wants it during this hard time.
And that I told Mom about her, and Mom expects a visit as soon as she gets back to her home town, which is where Mom lives.

I did not broach hospice at this time, I think it's a bit early, and she told me other things about his treatment that give me info to follow up on.
She is 70. Came here about 15 years ago and never acclimated and is ready to leave.

She lives in the lap of luxury. A pool the size of pools at large apartment complexes graces her manicured yard... etc.
Imported inlaid French furniture.
German oohmpa-pa music on Satellite TV.

She did not need the 6 dollars. That's a fact.
She needed a friend.
