I don't think it is an interchangeable lens so you are stuck with what is offered.

3. Well if it's anywhere near the $1,000 range it would be a bargain
the X1 with the viewfinder is $2,350

4. A 35mm prime lens is a good choice for the type of
up close and personal photography I do. Shutter lag and anti shake are two issues I hope are addressed.

8. The price is better than I thought. Appox $1,000 is not bad,
but I'd like it to be closer to the $500 price range.

9. LOL, who wouldn't
It's a lot of camera, in all reality it specs out pretty close to the Leica M8.2 but with a fixed lens.

10. I'm a cheapskate, so anything over $10 is too much.

Let's see how it performs. If it can come close to the Leica in IQ, then you will see a lot on the streets.

I saw my first Olympus E PL1 on the streets this weekend.

Sony is releasing a firmware update to address some of the issues users have brought to their attention. It seems they have made some changes to the menus. That seems to have been the big complaint.

There's a new Leica D-Lux5 and X1 announced at Photokina.

11. I would spring for the S2 before I would spend $26,000 on a M9 Titanium
I don't think I could ever justify spending 2x the price for a special edition M9 fortunately for Leica I don't have any doubts that they can sellout the 500 unit run.

What will Canon and Nikon do to counter the mirror less cameras?

13. Exactly
It's more of a Heidi Klum camera. I don't think Canon and Nikon are overly concerned with this market segment so I don't expect to see them do anything because at this point they would be pretty late to the party.

Speaking of Leica there's an opening at Leica Gallery tonight for Anne Frank: A Private Photo Album
