Houseboat community in Sausalito
I work just down the street, maybe 1/4 mile, from this funky little houseboat community. I finally got around to taking some pictures yesterday at lunchtime. Here are a few.

This is clearly the low-rent end of the marina, but it had a certain feel to it and I liked it.

Main Street

That's Mt. Tamalpais in the background.

The bull's head lends an imposing-but-fluffy tone to the place.

Zoom in closely to see the Nancy Sinatra and Ventures LP's in the windows. No, I couldn't smell patchouli, in case you were wondering.

And finally, the maritime version of the Scooby Doo stay-there-in-a-storm haunted mansion.

1. Wonderful shots.
Thanks for posting. It's one of those places you drive by all the time and never think of stopping.

2. WOW - I can't agree with NVWhino
about driving by such a place all the time. I surely don't and if I did I would not be able to tear myself away.
This is a great photographic journey showing me something I would not see, and I'm fascinated. Very wonderful shots, too, so much blue sky and wondrous human innovation and quirkyness exhibited.
I love this post and thank you.

Thanks for the tour. I keep thinking, no yard to cut! Looks good to me.

Love the colors, and all the different ways people express themselves.

6. Thanx a whole lot!
I hate living in OK as it is, and you just had to go and make it worse. x(

Really, really great shots. That second one is my favorite. :D
