Me and my shadow
This was weird. Note the two different perspectives. I think the heron stayed in this position at least five minutes. Maybe facing the sun to dry off the inside of the wings, or something? Sunbathing?

Is it a blue heron? I've never seen a bird in that particular stance.

It was one of those days that the air was cool but the sun was warm. The sun feels really good on days like that, and I think the heron figured that out. I've never seen that stance either, and I have herons in all sorts of poses..........

As we approached the heron in the boat, my mouth just started dropping. And I thought, "Isn't that a bit obscene?" :rofl:
