And it looks like it is being USED. That's so great. I love the craftsmanship of things past, and you did a great job of documenting this. Really like the one with the white coffee cup and dark beans.

2. Thanks. I put them coffee in it. It does work (I was told) but I've been afraid to try it. |
|
I was thinking about doing a sorta black coffee picture for the contest. I dunno...

3. black coffee would make a great picture |
|
I thought about black in these. The one with the coffee cup comes closest to fitting the theme.
I have to say that I am absolutely awful at still life photos, and don't like the idea of setting them up, evaluating them or anything. The idea of my taking a picture of coffee makes my blood run cold. But I do appreciate them, and am so glad when people post them here. I just don't have any particular advice.
But I love vintage pieces and antiques. I had to comment on that beautiful grinder.

5. That is not only a very practical, functional tool |
|
it's truly a work of art (and you have photographed it beautifully). If I owned that I would use it daily.

6. The old saying "A thing of beauty is a joy forever" comes to mind. |
|
That really is a thing of beauty. And I'd guess it produces perfectly ground coffee. Hell, even if it doesn't, it's still a work of art.

8. It's one of my favorite things. I'm still afraid to use it. If it were to break I would cry. |
