Did some long exposures Saturday night. Each one 15 seconds of exposure.

1. OKAY I am so amzingly impressed.
Every one of them is so fabulous I might smash my camera before I hit the sack.
Of course it's not the camera, it's the operator, and the operator's knowledge and eye.

And I'm so tired I can express no other superlatives.
But I do believe I have said before: You are getting better and better.

6. Thanks. A tripod and cable release really expands what you can do with
Your camera. The cable release is essential in that it isolates the camera. No matter how careful you are, you will cause some shake if you use your finger to trip the shutter.

10. Don't forget the cable release. And don't extend the tripod
all the way up. The higher it is set, the more chance of movement. If you carry a heavy purse, you can hook it on the hook on the bottom of the center post to add more stability. Not all have the hook, but that's no big thing.

This is an el Cheapo. If you can afford better, do it.

25. Neat pics! Thanks for sharing!
re: cheap tripods: they are much better than no tripod! $30 or less.

I also have used the shutter release timer instead of a remote cable. I think most dslr's have them. Do you think there would be any difference in the "action" of one vs. the other?

2. These are really great alfredo.
And I didn't even notice the car on your top photo until I took another look!

And when you think about it, Rapid Run (on sign post) should be the name of these photos. After all, there are those fabulous "streaks" from cars.

Sheesh . . . I just had to scroll through again, and I'm really enthralled with that top photo.

3. Very cool, Alfredo.
I'm wondering what caused the little line of light that runs diagonally across the flow of traffic in the third shot.

:hi:

4. I have no idea what caused those? I think a car made a right turn in front
Of me. But I'm not sure.

8. I'm wondering if those could work for "black." That wasn't
the intent.

11. I took a black crayon, jumbo and regular sized, and stood them up
(one at a time & together) on several pieces of construction paper of varying colors. I moved the crayon around, looking at shadows and depth. I also watched how light played off the tip of the crayon...casting various tones of black. Black and white might be the absence of color but black isn't - it is both color and shading...object and idea. Surface and depth.

So, yeah...those could work. :)

I feel like I should bring RegnD an apple.

19. I agree about your apple comment. I was stricken with not knowing what to do
and how to interpret it, and silently cursed his absence from our struggles. But that is how we learn about ourselves, and each other.

Let's make that two apples.

I especially like the third one. As mentioned by Callalily, the street name fits perfectly.

the first one. I do like the melancholy of the second one.
