I like to take pictures while riding along the autobahn. This is a series of shots getting closer and closer to the village tower.

1. Village tower?

Does every village have a tower? How old is it? Is it like the county courthouse or something?

Looks really interesting--all the red roofs and then that large tower with the round top. I don't ever remember seeing anything like that.

It's a real challenge taking photos from a moving car. I like trying that too, at least when I am not driving.

2. I see them all the time - nestled among villages along the autobahn..

I don't know how old it is or what function it serves/served.

I'll have to find that out though.
