Just for fun...poking about my yard...
The cairn here is where some neighborhood redneck repube takes out his anger at my democratic yard signs.
I find it knocked down whenever I put one out, or if I leave town. Just re-built it yesterday and put the pumpkin on top.
I'm getting faster at it, and it beats lifting weights to stay in shape. And no - it does not fall on its own - the perp always disturbs just one additional thing nearby to show it was "he" not an accident.

1. Sorry about the redneck neighbor/saboteur...
ärgerlich! ! !

Could you rig some kind of booby trap?

I like the pics! The second one verges on abstraction!

Your cairn made me think of the artist Andy Goldsworthy. Do you know his work? Have you seen the film about him called "Rivers and Tides", by the German Thomas Riedersheimer?

If you haven't seen it, you must! ! ! ! It is magnificent.

4. Yes, annoying! But I must say
I feel a bit superior to that person when I just put it back together in close to a flash. No harm done. It is big rocks all strewn about, and then I just re-assemble them. Looks different each time, and that pleases me.
The annoying thing is what else he did, that's not always easy to find and rectify.

Thank you for the info about Andy Goldsworthy, will look into his work and the film about him.
And you, read: "Pillars of the Earth". It's really quite thrilling, and I do not as a rule go for historical novels. I "read" it while doing yard work downloaded from "Audible" and listened to on my "ears". I think it's 40 hours. You could read it on your airplane rides.

6. Oh, great! You won't be disappointed.
I promise you, it is stunning, a beautiful film about a superb and unusual artist. The sound track is really good too!

Let me know what you think.

2. What a beautiful cairn, my dear Mira!
They always look so fragile and tenuous...

Yours is stunning!

And the reflective water is gorgeous too...

Your neighbor does not deserve you, PERIOD.

He is an asshole. But you knew that...

3. Don't know who it is. But I put a 12 foot banner on my fence
with a reproduction of the yard sign of the person (Billy Kennedy) who is running against Virginia Foxx, and that banner is a huge provocation.
Yes, we are the 5th District of NC where she rules.......

7. Do you have the makings for a Foxx scarecrow for your yard?
Doing the eyes would be the hard part.....
