I just got a job as a professional photographer! I can't believe it.
After all these decades, I finally get to do something I've always wanted.

Do you mind giving us an idea of what kind of work you'll be doing?

I guess I'm the opposite of you. I quit college to be a newspaper photographer, then moved on to making films and television work. Finally had enough and now I limit my practice to photographing my wifes' flower gardens.

4. I've been applying for every job that comes along. So I answered
an ad in a weekly magazine. National Photos out of Oklahoma was looking for photographers. They called and told me to go to one of their shoots and see if I was interested. If I was I could start immediately. They have shoots at K-Mart, Walmart, and other stores like that. They have the vintage sepia shots, the color, and black and white. I was suprised that people still want black and white.

I figure this will be great experience. Very physical work for someone who has spent the last 20 years in front of a computer for 8-10 hours a day. But this is exciting.

7. I worked for the company that took portraits at Wal-Mart for 4 years
It was great experience. I learned a lot about portraiture. The one bad point is that the equipment was very specialized and not what I would be using if I were to do it on my own. But as far as posing, etc, it was great experience.
