This month’s (Oct.) contest

theme will be”strength”. I will try to start the submissions on Oct. 9th and take them up until the 14th or 30 submissions. Trying to work around my three hellishly long days of work and leave people time. I can extend things if needed. Just not around Monday thru Wednesday these days.
Use you imaginations, so many are so creative here, and have fun.

threads like they have been doing. I just wanted to let people know (or warn them) that the theme would be strength and give people an idea of when I would open the submission thread. That way those that want to enter know to watch for it.
Are you kidding I even searched for the old disclaimer etc. from this summer so I could copy and paste as much as possible. I am a first timer, stealing every idea that looked like it worked that I can.

I'm new to this forum. Is this to be a photo I take?

We don't have many rules in the Photo Contests, but the one hard and fast rule is that any photo you enter must have been taken by you. That's the primary point of the group, to share photos we've taken and learn how to take better photos. Of course, if there's a photographer whose work you'd like to share with us (like Ansel Adams or Annie Liebowitz, for example), we'd be delighted to take a gander at the photos that inspire you. Just start a thread on the topic and give full credit to the original photographer. But for contests and competitions, the work must be your own.

7. This is exciting

I'm glad you invited me here last week. I'm going to enter the contest. I already have my subject for 'strength'. It came to me right away. We have had strong Santa Ana winds and 90-100 degree heat here for a couple of days but it is finally over...for now.

One more question. Do I submit any text with my photo?

I usually just give the photo a name. Some put a comment or two with it. There will be another thread for people to comment on the photos.
