1. Lovely. I only visited Mannheim one time.
Went there in 1980 to see Led Zeppelin play. They played in an ice rink. It was a very unusual setting. It ended up being their last tour with the original members.

Very cool pics.

2. We had planned to stay until nightfall but the temperature dropped
and I decided I'd rather be home and warm.

We're going back during the evening hours before it closes. It's beautiful at night...all the lights.

5. So pretty and brings back memories
I have no pics from when I actually went to the ones in Karlsruhe (never thought to take a camera with me), but found a pic of what it's like:

An early Frohe Weihnachten to you!

3. Beautiful photos and very festive!
I also like the billboard shot of the Turkish food...cay, kofte, borek...brings back memories of Istanbul :-)

6. Yeah! Christkindlesmarkt. I love it.
The straw crafts photo is my favorite shot, the whole excursion is memorable and I love your presentation.

I have never been to Mannheim (to my memory). Home town is Augsburg. I have been to the Christkindlesmarkt in Nuernberg/Augsburg/Strassbourg and maybe the little city of my birth Schwaebisch Hall.

When I was young we moved around all over, 7 children in a VW bug, along with the parents. We were dirt poor, but we survived thanks to German Socialism and the kindness of strangers.

:)

We're moving to Ansbach.

We moved around a lot when I was young, too. I think I got a lot from it.
