A pix. Call for Graphic Designer. and "Autumn Challenge"

First the pix. This is another Infrared Autumn snapshot. If anyone is interested I can go through the process on this. I don't have an infrared camera. It's all done with filters and software. This one is a little more "tight" with some of that "pop" factor...



Graphic Designer? I could use help in designing a Banner for the group gugslug site. Was going to give it a try but if there is someone out there that has more experience... help would greatly be appreciated. And intheflow now has the admin login if I'm not around. Probably should give it to a couple of others. Any volunteers?

Also, if you have a site like Cafepress, business, personal, etc that you'd like to link from mugslug PM me and we'll get you setup for a link. Free advertising... since the slugmugbug is getting a few thousand hits a month now.. will get more later. Plus.. why don't we do something like the Art group did? I know that our photos could fetch some good money in a DU auction.

I'll start an "Autumn Challenge" toward the end of October. Or.. does someone else want to "host" it? Go for it. So.... if you have a fall photo keep it handy. But then... the winner of October may pick "Autumn" as a theme for November. Maybe I should wait? I'm still waiting on "Aged Objects" to be the theme. Only way would be for me to win one of these damn things and that'll never happen.... so guess I'll have to bribe one of the winners.

Oh yea.. where the fuck are all the usual suspects? Past photogs? The ones who haven't been tombstoned. You know who you are. Has this place lost its way? Are you unhappy with how this place has progressed? Let's hear your complaints... rants... if any.

Aside from that, the theme for this month's contest hasn't really grabbed me (translation - I haven't found any shots that cry out "strength" and haven't had the time to go look for one.)

Autumn should be easy, I'll just grab a couple of shots while I'm on bike patrol in the MetroParks...

2. I'd like to hear about how you got the infrared effect.

I think "aged objects" sounds like a pretty good theme. Personally, I'm rooting for "non-companion animals."

There are a few themes that I've gotten all excited for, and then couldn't figure out a good entry for the month's actual theme. I already had my "sex" picture loaded onto photobucket!

pn how you got the infrared.
I hope you do an Autumn challenge, though you might want to run it through Nov. The leaves are still green here and its mid October. I heard that even New England's leaves still haven't put on their colors, late for them too.
