The second DU photo contest--for 1/29--sign up here. Theme: winter/cold
I'll keep organizing 'em as long as people keep wanting to participate...

Since most people thought we should have a theme, "Winter/ cold" seems to have been agreed upon...

Since the poll format limits us to ten entries, the first ten to respond will be entered.

Previous entries aren't totally disqualified, but priority will be given to new participants...

Once again, I'll disqualify myself...unless there aren't enough entries, but here's a few I've taken from some of the recent ice storms here in MA...

Just post a picture with a title as soon as you can in this thread...:)

And keep in mind, this is all for fun...my photos tend to be bleary and over exposed too...

17. Nice contrast ....
...the tree (the tree alone is awesome) and the haze-muted colors of the rest of the picture.

Where is Burg Hornberg? I spent three years in Germany (Air Force), just north of Trier - about 30 miles from Luxemburg. I wish digital cameras had been available back then. I spent a ton of money taking bad photos!

well I had to enter as we've had so little snow in recent years that I didn't know if I'd get the chance again (with a winter theme that is). We got the biggest snow storm in years a few weeks ago.

This is a sunset along the frozen shores of Lake Michigan. The steel mills in the distance, which aren't visible, kick out so many particulants that we have the most gorgeous sunsets around here.

BTW, any tips on making this larger? I'm using photobucket.

I'm about to leave town and doubt I'll have internet access until February so if there is something else I need to do to enter, I won't be able to do it. But if you need an "extra" entry, here goes. It is probably more amusing to me since I am from the south and didn't know that icicles or whatever they are could grow sideways.
