122. I'm pretty positive there will be a draft

because there is no end in sight with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. So with all of the armed services not having any luck signing up poor slubs, they will have no choice. Whether the Shrub and his evil minions call it a draft---well, we'll see.

I have two nephews and one of them decided he wanted to join the Marines. My Dad and brother were both Marines and I guess he wanted to follow in their footsteps. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have minded, but under the current climate I was less then enthused.

Anyway, he went into Boot Camp back in December. He should have graduated 13 weeks later. Yet he is still there. He doesn't meet their strength requirements and come the 17th of this month it will be 6 months that the have had him. He's even been injured, but apparently even that wasn't enough for them to let him go. I'm livid and he's not even my child.

My Dad served in the Marines for 30 years. I was born in a military hospital as were both my brothers, but I don't recognize the Marines or this country anymore. Thankfully, according to my nephew, they will be releasing him soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I want him home.

Now I will only have to worry about my other nephew when they institute the draft. This whole situation has made me sick to my stomach.

just home from the vet, the Gizmo is actually doing better, both white and red blood counts are up. I fed the dogs and birds (cats always have food) and now his turn then my turn. Listened to what I could of Keith between the barking, squawking and meowing. Thankfully ferrets are quiet. Will read the thread later and watch Keith later when it is quiet.

The little *hit gained weight and is doing better, which is good news but also means he has learned to fake almost dieing to get held. Faked not eating to get fed. And is now addicted to laying on me and watching Keith a 8 pm. I am glad he is doing better, now to get his white count up to 5000 so he can have another chemo treatment.

I miss being here for the thread but have enjoyed actually watching Keith. I always read it sometime the same night though.

Add WG, the best at finding pics and video of Keith, to the list.
