on the Taste page no less:
De Gustibus column Poetic License: Republicans Need Not Apply By James Taranto (member of the WSJ editorial board)
At the poetry reading in New York a guy in Armani shouts: I came for poetry, not your politics- She says- Global warming, this green morning... She spells out the scientists name.
I am the guy "in Armani" and I feel I must respond.
...Gioseffi opened the proceedings with a vulgar rant about Beltway politics-specifically her glee over the "fall" of Tom Delay and Bill Frist...It was then that I said I came to hear poetry, not politics...
...you don't have to be a Republican to be put off by crude and hatefull political rhetoric. Sure, there is a market for it, or Keith Olbermann and Michael Savage would be out of their jobs.
Mr. Taranto, Out of courtesy I must warn you not to spend any time on DU, you are too sensitive and might dissolve like the Wicked Witch of the West over the vulgar ranting. Of course, since any criticism of Republican political principles or politicians is all just "vulgar ranting", the possibilty of you logging on here is exceedingly remote but it is just good manners to point this out. Sincerely, Gogi
PS: How DARE you compare KO to the Savage Weener!
PPS: The "fall" of DeLay and Frist? What else was it?

"Crude and hateful political rhetoric," eh?
Oh well. I guess we can expect little else from Rupe's minions.
