2. Put a fork in her .... Hillary is done.
Obama is pulling killer #s in VA. Clinton fired her manager, has had $
problems, and is getting her ass kicked in state after state. I read a
great piece in the L.A. Times that Obama has been working on this "game
plan" from 2006 .... it is not just a cult but "they" use Barack to fire up the
people with a speech aka "Rock Star Time" and then the campaign has a
well thought "boots on the ground" old fashioned win the election game plan
in state after state.

Obama is winning across the country big time Washington, Maine, Georgia,
Iowa, North Dakota, Louisiana, Colorado, South Carolina ... on and on.

Hell Barack took 94 delegates in New York State = 40% of the delegates in Hillary's
home state and he took about 35% in MA too (Kennedy & Kerry's endorsement took
Obama from 15% to 37%.

4. It has to do the w/ "size" of the loss
In both N.Y. & MA Barack picked up 20 points.

Remember Rudy's wait until Florida game plan ... same thing
will hurt Hillary ...... Obama before Ohio and Texas will pile
up delegates and good press ..... Hillary not so much.

My father died 30 years ago, and there are moments when I miss him so much it's like he just passed. And now with my mom......

I know you never totally get over it, and I wouldn't want to. I think that's how they live on, in the memories of those they touched.

49. That she did, CC
My mom was a nurse's aide, and when we were growing up, we heard stories from her about people who were ready to go, but their families were begging them to keep living (regardless of the quality of their life), and it really bothered her.

When my grandmother (mom's mom) was ill and in a nursing home, I used to go see her every Sunday. The last time I was there, I kissed her and said, "See you later, grandma." Usually, she would say, "Okay, honey." That time, she said, "Oh honey, I don't think so." I left knowing that she was ready to go. Two days later, my mom called to say that grandma has passed away.

When my grandfather (mom's dad) fell ill, and he was in a nursing home, my mom came to Washington to see him, and told him if he was ready to go, it was okay. Then she called her brother in Maryland, and told him to come out, and tell grandpa the same thing, which he did. Grandpa died shortly after that.

So, I grew up knowing that many people KNOW when it's time, and that the most loving and unselfish thing the family can do is let them know they are loved, and that it's okay for them to go.

It's not easy, but it's the right thing to do.

And that is a beautiful gift that we got from mom.

44. See downthread
She's doing much, much better and we can actually sort of understand her when she talks. They moved her back to the cancer floor now that she's out of danger from the sepsis.

One thing I noticed, though, that I don't like is that her eyes are looking yellow again. I'm afraid her bilirubin levels must be back up, which isn't a good sign.

20. Geez give me a break, Maryland is no
different than any other state on race. I liked Mfume and Cardin but ended up voting for Cardin. We had two damn good candidates running for that senate seat and it was a difficult choice. Race had nothing to do with it to those I talked to.

24. Hey, everyone!
:hi:

Mom is doing much better. They took her off the heart monitor and moved her back to the cancer floor. I like the nurses there much better.

She had liquids for lunch and can now eat what they call "mechanical solids," which means things like ground meat, but not chewy things like chicken.

We're amazed. The antibiotics seems to have taken care of the sepsis, which is what put her back in the hospital. Now I don't know what course of treatment we're going to follow for the cancer -- two weeks ago we thought she'd be gone by now. She's very, very weak and I don't know if she'll get her strength back, but it's frustrating for her. I even had to scratch her nose for her.

48. Seems like they always have to mix bad
with the good. Will keep on praying for her. You never know she might be one of those that responds well to chemo. I know the second time Terry had chemo we were told he might survive until xmas with it (It started in April). He responded well and is still here even if he did have to go through a third time. By then something new was out to use. So far he has stayed in remission for 4.5 years now. The longest he has ever stayed in remission.
I always hoped for the best and planned for the worst. It was about all I could do.

64. He probably is and was when he was going through
it all. He also had a different kind of cancer. More was telling you that as in that some people just respond better than others and it can surprise even the doctors. Of all the people we met with his cancer at the time he is one of two that are still here. Maybe more me hoping she will so you have her around longer and trying to give you some hope. It is such a hard thing to go through either way and the ups and down can be brutal. You have a lot of sense and know to be realistic. I also know the helpless feeling and that can be hard to handle too. Try to keep some hope but definitely stay realistic.
I hate trying to type it out because I am so awful with words. Just wish I could give you a  and shoulder to lean on.

Yes, I'm trying to be realistic. It's so hard to make any kind of plans now, not knowing what's going to happen and when. I want to register for Take Back America and now I just don't know what to do. I've got a call in to them to see if I'll be able to get a refund if I can't go. I know mom wouldn't want us to put our lives on hold, so I want to keep doing what I'd normally do as much as possible, but give myself time to get to the hospital as much as I can also.

the polling place loses power suddenly? Any ideas? Half the street on one side of me is out, mine is shaky and the two firetrucks that went by sirens blaring were only going about 10 mph max.

If I disappear means my power went out. Glad there is wood for the wood stove.
