Mom came home today for home hospice. She's glad to be there, but it's still tough. She really can't move anything other than her head and her left arm and her right arm, just slightly. We think it's possible she may have had a minor stroke. Her mind seems to be okay, although a little foggy at times.

Today she had no pain, so no drugs. It's just so hard for her to get comfortable and none of us is strong enough to really move her much to get her in a better position. The bed isn't as big as the one in the hospital and it doesn't move quite as much.

If it's affordable, it might be a good option for her.

Medicare pays for everything in hospice -- equipment, medication, any necessary care, aide, nurse a few hours a week, etc. They delivered the bed yesterday.

The hospital and my parents' condo are about equidistant timewise from my house (the hospital is actually a little closer, distancewise), but their condo is between work and my house, so it is a bit easier and I don't have to deal with the parking lot at the hospital anymore.
