and therefore I am loath to tell anyone else that his or hers is not as deeply felt as mine. In return, I expect that same courtesy from them.

I'm also sure that at times, when returning from Canada, I've been treated with more skepticism by the U.S. immigration folks because of having dark hair, eyes and olive skin.
